Sponsoring organization Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME)
USMLE Steps USMLE exam comprises three steps:
Step 1
Step 2-Clinical Skills (CS) and Clinical Knowledge (CK)
Step 3
Mode of USMLE exam Step 1, Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK), and Step 3-computer-based Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS)-Offline
Result NBME will declare results for all Steps
Retakes Not more than three times within a 12-month period.
Number of attempts An examinee cannot take a Step or Step Component more than six times

The aspirants must be officially enrolled in or graduated from the US or Canadian medical school MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree, or an equivalent degree from a medical school outside the US and Canada that must be listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
